The suspension of the industrial action is coming following a ruling by Appeal Court ordering the union to suspend it’s strike and the intervention of the house of representatives leadership led by Femi Gbajabiamila.

A reliable source confidently confirmed the development in the early hours of Friday.

The suspension of the strike was sequel to the understanding the union had with the leadership of house of representatives, led by Femi Gbajabiamila, to which ASUU NEC agreed upon.

The union has suspended the eight-month-old strike while it monitors the compliance level of the federal government to the concessions the latter has made.

ASUU had been on strike since February 14 to press home the demand for improved funding for universities, a review of salaries for lecturers, replacement of UTAS with IPPIS among other issues.

The decision to suspend the strike was reached at ASUU NEC meeting in Abuja which lasted for several hours.
